Popular Colour Run returns for third year
Last year’s Colour Run raised £13,000
A popular charity event is returning to Harewood Forest for its third year, and tickets are now on sale to join in the colourful fun.
Hampshire Hospitals Charity’s Colour Run will be returning to Wherwell on Saturday 1 August, bringing a sea of colour to the local area. Funds raised from the event will be used to support projects across hospitals in Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester.
The event will see participants gather for a warmup at the cricket club before they head into the forest. As they make their way round the countryside course, they’ll pass through colour stations with volunteers ready to cover them in colourful eco friendly powder paint. As they finish, they’ll be welcomed back by the charity, family and friends as they’re awarded a medal for taking part.
Morgan Hughes, fundraising assistant at Hampshire Hospitals Charity, is organising the event and said: “Colour Run is always an incredible event as it’s full of people wanting to have fun with friends and family and make a difference to their local community.
“As always, those taking part will be supporting our work within local hospitals, and while sponsorship isn’t necessary to take part, any money raised will be used to fund initiatives that support patients and staff.”
Last year, the event raised £13,000 and helped fund activity resources for dementia patients and folding beds for family to stay close to loved ones in hospital.

Preparations are now well underway for this year’s event and Morgan added, “Events like this don’t just happen and we’re proud to have the support of Wherwell Estate once again as well as Parker Bullen, Hildon, Barchester, Cornerstone Nurseries and Places Leisure who are supporting us this year. Each will have teams at our colour stations, ready and loaded with paint to make this the most colourful Colour Run yet.”
The event is open to all ages and abilities however, owing to the terrain, the course is not suitable for those in wheelchairs, mobility scooters, or children in buggies and pushchairs.
Tickets are now available via the charity’s website and are priced at £20 for adults and £10 for children. Entry also includes a charity t-shirt to take part in, and a medal awarded at the finish line.
