A pair of strong, inspirational women will be taking to the streets of London on Sunday as they take part in a half marathon in memory of their longed-for babies.

Surgeons at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have completed the 100th surgical procedure using the cutting-edge robotic-assisted da Vinci 5 surgical system, marking a major milestone less than six months after it became the first NHS trust in the UK to introduce the new technology.

The UK’s first patients have been treated using a new state-of-the-art robotic-assisted surgical system at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Thanks to charitable funding, the new da Vinci 5 surgical system is now in place at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, and will be used for a variety of surgical specialties.

In the run up to Christmas, Hampshire Hospitals Charity is asking you to consider purchasing one extra gift this year to donate to a patient staying in hospital.

Earlier this year, Hampshire Hospitals appointed Helen Toomer-Jones as its first All Age Autism Specialist Lead, a post made possible thanks to Hampshire Hospitals Charity and generous donations from the local community.

A new piece of artwork has been installed on the children’s ward of a local hospital to help create a welcoming environment for young patients and their families.

A local woman has praised the hospital trust she credits with saving her life and is now raising money to help them provide valuable equipment to support others in their recovery.

A wellbeing garden has been opened at a local hospital to help support good mental health for hard working staff thanks to funding through Hampshire Hospitals Charity and NHS Charities Together, along with time donated from staff of local businesses.

Hampshire Hospitals Charity recently welcomed Merlin Entertainment’s Magic Wand team to the children’s ward at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital where they presented patients and staff with an entertainment unit containing items for children of all ages.

A memory garden has recently opened just outside Basingstoke to provide a peaceful area for parents who have lost a baby – and it’s all thanks to kind-hearted parents who themselves have experienced the devastation of baby loss.

When a critical incident was declared by Hampshire Hospitals, local people stepped in to support NHS staff who worked around the clock to ensure patients were well looked after. 

Thanks to your generous donations, Hampshire Hospitals Charity has been able to invest £11,000 in this much needed service to bring a sensory room back to the children of Basingstoke.

Thanks to your donations, In the last year, Hampshire Hospitals Charity has invested over £40,000 in providing cold cap machines that could help up to 20 local people each week.
