Big Blue Fundraiser raises £6,000

A bake sale held for the Big Blue Fundraiser

Last month, the charity celebrated everything the NHS means to our community, by hosting the Big Blue Fundraiser as we approached the NHS’ 78th birthday and the centenary of Andover War Memorial Hospital.

As the week of charity fundraising came to an end, Morgan Hughes, fundraising assistant at Hampshire Hospitals Charity, said; “From local companies to hospital consultants, we asked our community to take part in our first Big Blue Fundraiser and they did not disappoint! Our supporters got creative by hosting their own events such as a ‘Wear it Blue’ dress down day, cycling the distance between our hospitals, putting their chef hats on and hosting a cake sale, and joining our ‘Make it Blue’ art competition.”

Thanks to the support of our community, The Big Blue Fundraiser raised almost £6,000, which will be used to support projects across our hospitals in Basingstoke, Andover and Winchester.

Morgan added: “ We want to say a huge thank you to everyone that got involved, including Petra Jewellery, Cornerstone Day Nursery and Blue Angel Care for their incredible support throughout the week.
