Join us for an engaging and informative gemstone masterclass from local jewellery experts where you’ll have the opportunity to walk away with some of the gorgeous gems featured.
This exclusive event begins with sparkle as you’re welcomed to the stunning Oakley Hall by our charity team and have the opportunity to enjoy a glass of fizz before our gemstone masterclasses begin.
Hosted by independent family jewellers Petra Jewellery, The Gemstone Tea Party is your chance to step into the fascinating world of gemstones in an intimate masterclass setting.
Following the masterclass, guests will be invited to come together to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea, prepared and served by the talented culinary team at Oakley Hall.
The masterclass
Petra Jewellery experts will share their wealth of knowledge and experience as they talk you through the origins and unique qualities of each stone, including sapphires, aquamarine and amethyst. They’ll also showcase exquisite designs for how these gems could be transformed into stunning, bespoke items of jewellery.
What makes these masterclasses truly unique is the hands-on experience given by the team at Petra Jewellery, who have all donated their time to this unique charity event. Guest, won’t just admire the gemstones from afar, they’ll get up close and learn how to handle them, using jewellers’ tools like tweezers and a loupe, giving you the chance to really see and understand the gems that will be available in the charity auction a little later in the day.
Two classes will be available where you can get up close with either a selection of sapphires or aquamarine, amethyst and garnet. Please indicate which class you would like to join at your time of booking.
Silent auction
Following the masterclass, take part in our silent auction to secure one of the featured gemstones for yourself, or as a gift for someone special.
You’ll then have the opportunity, if you choose, to work directly with the Petra Jewellery team to design your perfect piece of jewellery.
Please note: All proceeds from the gemstone auction will go directly to Hampshire Hospitals Charity. Prices for any jewellery design and creation will need to be agreed separately with Petra Jewellery.
Where does your money go?
All proceeds from this event and the sale of any gemstone will come to Hampshire Hospitals Charity and directly support of our Firvale team which provides essential respite care and support for families with children who have complex health needs and require 24/7 care.
